Each Wednesday going forward, I will try and give you a health update as to where I stand. I started 2 weeks ago watching what I ate and trying to actively exercise, so it only makes sense.
In the past week, I had an Ultimate tournament over near Dartmouth in Vermont, and was able to get just shy of 40K steps on my Fitbit between Saturday and Sunday. Great exercise for the weekend, but it also included some amazing food and drinks, but unfortunately above my points level.
Monday was an easy day, primarily to just recover from 7 games over the weekend, and I was able to watch more of what I ate and ate healthier. Yesterday included a wonderful surprise round of golf through work, which got me 14K steps, but again, came with loaded nachos, ham sandwich at the turn, and a cookout for dinner.
However, all in all, I thought it was a good week. Not a great week, but a good week. And it really tested my thought on going out, exercising a ton by getting a lot of steps and being active, and then just eating what I wanted. It worked a little, by me losing a pound to start the day off at 200 even.
But it wasn’t as great of a decline as the first week when I was really active in watching what I ate. Looks like Missy was right. Dieting must be 80% of the work, and exercise only 20%. With that in mind, I am on my way to a healthier week. My goal is to be below 195 next week, and 5 pounds more each week. I’ll keep you updated.
Question: What exercise or weight loss goals did you hit this past week? What are your goals for the next week?
