Let’s start from scratch and get the first big obstacle out of the way first.
I am not a writer. That may shock you, but I doubt it does. Thought I have been told I have a “silver tongue” and “gold fingers” for writing or speaking, that’s usually in business conversations and emails with customers and managers. I don’t know the first thing about writing a blog, but I do plan on learning and growing my skills to better communicate my message with you. This is just the beginning.
So many of us in our lives start from scratch almost every single day. That’s the beauty of waking up in the morning, knowing that a new full day is ahead of us, filled with new opportunities, new people to talk to and meet, and new experiences for each of us. It’s the rush we get when we set out on a new adventure, that beginners high. Knowing that we are taking the first steps on a journey is a great feeling, but it can also be a daunting task.
This week, I received Jon Acuff’s new book Start. and am excited to dive into the material this weekend. I am sure that with this book, along with the hundreds of other podcasts, books, and real-life experiences that I have been building up over the past couple of years will help me to devote the time, effort and energy into this blog and make it something amazing. I have been reading and learning for so long that I have finally decided to take that next step in my dream of helping others, and sharing my knowledge. I am hoping that my life experiences as a young credit manager, “from-away” as my division manager likes to say, living in the beautiful state of Maine will help give you ideas and opportunities in your personal growth.
Expect big things from this blog, but please bear with me. This is just the start of a long journey, and I hope that you enjoy the ride. I will take the tortoise approach, and slowly build the blog around the content, my experiences, and ultimately what best serves you, the reader. I look forward to working for and with all of you in helping to develop our growth together.
Question: What new adventures are you beginning?
