Thinking about this blog and what I wanted to do with it, it became very clear that I was going to need to focus my energy and thoughts onto one or more topics to write about, and eventually talk about on a podcast. I could not decide if I should focus more on my passions, or try and find a problem/issue that I could help guide and possibly solve. There are so many different problems that everyone faces in daily life, that I knew it would be difficult to try and help everyone, and that it would be irresponsible to do so.
Three Main Topics
I ultimately figured out that I could use my passions and experiences in life to build lessons and help others. It has been said that experience is the best way to learn, and without experience you cannot help others. My life can be hectic and confusing at times, but there is so much I love about my life that I couldn’t help but share what I am doing and learning. This led me to three broad but key ideas that I can focus on: Personal Growth, Professional Development, and Financial Stability.
I focus a lot individually on Personal Growth because that is where I believe everything starts. Without knowing myself personally and continuing to grow, I will never meet my own expectations, let alone exceed them. These include personal endeavors outside of a professional life that truly mean something to you. Most importantly, people have a dedication to improve their relationships with family and friends, and these relationships propel or slow down personal growth depending on their impact on your life. However, it is also important to have hobbies in life, and goals outside of a professional or relationship mindset.
While personal growth is important, I have to make sure I balance it with my Professional Development. Being the number one person for myself is great, and extremely important, however I have a career to focus on as well. Professionally, I want to be able to help as many people as possible, and teach them viable ways to make their businesses more profitable not just short term, but also long term. I also manage a small but successful team of employees, so professionally I am constantly working on my management and leadership skills as well. My career as a division credit manager allows me to help people, both within our company and in our customers businesses, and that is vital for me.
By becoming more profitable, I am also hoping to teach about the importance of Financially Stability. Personally, I am very passionate about my personal finance and goals, and work hard to pay down my debt to then maximize my wealth building abilities. I want to do this for several reasons, first and foremost to be able to take care of myself and future family for years to come, but also to be able to change the lives of others around me when I can. I want to do that through my own finances, but also in teaching people the importance of financial stability, but more importantly the effects instability can have on you, your life, your professional life and your relationships.
Teaching you Sustainability
As the Chinese proverb says, “Give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish, and he eats for a lifetime.” This applies so abundantly in life that it cannot be defined to only one aspect of your life. Life, business, relationships, personal mindset and finance have so many different lessons, and if you heed the proper advice, can set you up for growth for the short- and long-term success like never before. The internet is full of information, but without proper direction or discretion, you will find yourself overwhelmed by the amount of noise trying to teach you how you should live your life. It is my goal to give you tools, experiences and lessons to give you guidance in your busy life, and help you succeed in whatever goals you may set for yourself.
