This week and next, a lot of people are heading back to school. Some children are going to school for the first time, or to their new school for the first time, while others are heading back to the same old school with the same old people, just another year closer to freedom. Then there are the young men and women getting ready to head off to college, prepared to take on the world.

Me? I actually am heading back to school too. As blessed as I am already with my career, my employer is paying for me to get my MBA, and classes start next Wednesday at the University of Maine. The last few months I have been taking small steps to get to this point, including taking the GMATs, applying, filling out paperwork and just moving forward. Yesterday, I took the last big step and got this little guy.

So I’m back to being a student. I started off at Holy Sepulcher Kindergarten through 5th grade, went to Pine Richland and became a Ram from 6th grade through graduating, was a Bearcat at Saint Vincent College, and now I’ll be a Black Bear for my graduate studies. Kinda makes me want to be a Black BearCat to still show my SVC pride.

Because I am still working 40+ hours each week, I am only taking one night class in person, and will be taking another course online. This may seem like a lot of extra work, but I am confident that I will be able to succeed in not only my work, but also fully succeed and learn in my studies as well. My time management skills have slowly been getting better over time, and I fully intend on learning more skills to better accomplish my goals and tasks, day in and day out.

Hopefully my studies bring not only a wealth of knowledge in these coming semesters, but also brings forth better relationships and the ability to work well with others. I look forward to working in small groups again on projects and completing research about different areas that I don’t always get to study. I will update on here every so often and see how it goes.

Question: What do you plan on doing throughout the rest of this year to learn and grow more?
