I have always thought that it is better to aim for something, set a goal or have a vision, no matter how large or lofty, than to have no clue, idea or area for improvement. I set goals so high, I will be lucky to meet half of them sometimes. Zig Zigler says it best, “If you aim at nothing, you will hit it every time.” What does that mean? It pretty much means that if you have no goals set, no vision, no aspirations, I can almost guarantee you will achieve that, every single time. You will not grow to your full potential unless you set goals for what you want to set.
But where is a good place to start? What aspects of your life should you focus on in order to set up goals? Chris LoCurto did an excellent article on Zig Ziglar’s Wheel of Life. It has 7 key aspects of what to focus on in setting goals. And as Zig said, if one part of your life is flat, you have a flat tire, and that will wreck the rest of the wheel. The 7 key parts of your life to focus on, in no particular order because as you can see, they are all important, are the following:
Start small, and set one or two goals at most for each of these components of the Wheel and see how your life changes for the better.
