The past week has been a difficult week. A very large event was pushed back from last Wednesday to this Wednesday, and it added a little bit of stress. Usually when I’m stressed, I will do one of three things: eat a ton of junk food, watch a ton of TV, or work all of my aggression out. Though I would like to think that I worked a lot of the aggression out, I only ended up working out once, played pick up Ultimate once, and hiked for a little over 5 miles.
I always start off Wednesday and Thursday right with counting all of my points and being very aware of what I have eaten. Once the weekend hits, it’s usually all out the door, we end up going out for a meal, have a couple of drinks, and I casually forget to count my points. It leads to some great times and meals, but I am only hurting myself in my goal of trying to lose weight. I was a little more conscious on my work travel earlier this week though, and did manage to eat a little healthier than I usually do, but not enough to make up for Friday and Saturday.
With everything that happened, I still have a lot of work to do to get to my goal weight of 170. I am thinking it might not be healthy to try and get to 180 lbs by sectionals, as it is only 2 and a half weeks away at this point in time. Checking in on the scale this morning, and I’m at 195 again, no gain, but no loss either.
One little thing that I swear I’ve noticed too over the last few weeks. Any time I step on the scale on Wednesdays and Saturdays, I tend to be even or down a little. However, every other day of the week, I swear that I have gained weight. Just on Sunday, I weighed myself in somewhere around 200 again! I must have picked the perfect weigh in day to hit my lowest weight, but I just don’t understand how that works.
This week, I plan on doing a little more working out to get in better Ultimate shape, and with the Wheelchair Rugby season just around the corner, I have to start preparing for that too. Can’t wait for that to start up and hopefully have some awesome stories to share about a lot of the great men and women that get out and play.
Best of luck on your health goals this week. May you eat less than your eyes desire, and work out more than your first wind.
Question: What were you able to accomplish of your weekly health goal this past week? What do you hope to accomplish this week?
